Duncan Jones’ ‘Mute’ To Start Filming Next Week
eelyajekiM   |

Mute Concept Art

Long before Duncan Jones got the gig to direct the blockbuster adaptation of Warcraft, he was a small indie director with only a few features under his belt. In fact, Moon wasn’t even supposed to mark his debut as a director, that moment was reserved for his passion project, Mute.

Now that his obligations to Warcraft are behind him, the filmmaker can start focusing once again on bringing Mute to the big screen, and has announced that production on the film will commence next week. More on the story below.

‘Galaxy Quest 2’ Almost Happened Recently
The Movie God   |

Galaxy Quest

Last summer it was reported that the TV series based on the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest being developed by Paramount would be coming to Amazon. But, as it turns out, there was more to the story than just that.

Star Sam Rockwell was a guest on the Nerdist podcast recently, and he dropped a bit of a shocker: not only was Galaxy Quest 2 a go, but all of the cast was on board for it and the movie was planned to be filming around now. Then came the devastating loss of Alan Rickman, and other cast members’ schedules began to conflict, so the sequel was off.

You can read Rockwell’s quote below.

‘Poltergeist’ Reboot First Look: New Clown Even Scarier
Dr. Zaius   |

Poltergeist Scary Clown

“They’re Heeere.” Or is it, “They’re baaaack”? Or… “They’re Heeeere…again”?

Whichever way you say it, it’s been over 32 years since Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg ruined the childhoods of millions with Poltergeist. Now, horror-philes like myself are eagerly awaiting the Gil Kenan reboot. If you’re bothered by what may seem like another in a long line of horror remakes, sequels, and remake-quels, consider first that Kenan (director of Monster House) was terrified by the original as a kid and the film is produced by horror-icon Sam Raimi.

The first look of the reboot has been revealed in a set of photos released by USA Today, which you can see here below.

The story of invisible angry spirits kidnapping a family’s small daughter, Carol Anne, was notable for several bone-chilling moments, including the crawling steak, the bathroom face-ripping scene, and of course… THAT DAMN CLOWN DOLL! Fresh off Killer Clown, John Wayne Gacy’s killing spree, and a pint-sized clown masked Michael Myers (in 1978’s Halloween), clowns became even more terrifying in the late 70s and early 80s.

Cast: Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Rob Corddry

Rated R | 103 Minutes

Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, Academy Award winners for their screenplay of Alexander Payne’s The Descendants, have written, produced, and directed a delightful coming-of-age film with The Way, Way Back.

The film stars Liam James as Duncan, a 14-year-old introvert who goes on summer vacation with his mother Pam (Toni Collette), her new boyfriend Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin).

When we first meet Duncan, he’s riding in the “way back” of a vintage station wagon driven by Trent, who is sizing him up in the rearview mirror. Trent asks Duncan how he rates himself on a scale of one to ten. When Duncan answers six, Trent tells him he’s a three. He expects Duncan to use his time at the beach house this summer to “get that score up.” What a jerk.

Seven Psychopaths is the follow-up to Martin McDonagh’s Academy Award winning film In Bruges (please watch the film if you haven’t yet). The first trailer for the film has appeared online and it looks nothing short of hilarious. Check it out below.

The premise is pretty simple: three people working in the dog kidnapping business (Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, and Christopher Walken) unwittingly take a dog that belongs to an emotionally unstable mob boss (Woody Harrelson).
