SDCC 2012: HBOs Game of Thrones panel: Alfie Allen

It’s hard to imagine anyone liking a character played by Alfie Allen. As Theon Greyjoy on Game of Thrones he seized Winterfell, and as Iosef Tarasov he killed John Wick’s dog.

Course, just because he plays unlikable characters doesn’t mean that it is an ongoing thing. So who knows what he’ll be playing as he has been cast in The Predator. Find out more about the character and plot of the film in the report below.

The Expanse

As Syfy continues to get back to a place where they’re not known for just bad movies and wrestling, while still running bad movies and wrestling, they are starting to produce more quality original programming. Part of that plan is a series based on The Expanse series of novels by James S.A. Corey (the combined pen name of writers Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). The first trailer has now been released for the television series, and it’s looking pretty good.

Check out the trailer below and let us know if this gets you excited for the series. If you’ve read the book, do you think they’ve captured the spirit of the novel? Be sure to keep a look out as we get closer to the series official release date.

‘Punisher’ Star Thomas Jane Becomes Frank Castle Again For His Own Fan Film ‘Dirty Laundry’
The Movie God   |

Thomas Jane as The Punisher

Not a whole lot of people were fans of the 2004 comic book adaptation The Punisher—though there are plenty who do consider it a guilty pleasure—despite its high amount of violence and badge of honor R rating. The movie starred Thomas Jane as the Punisher himself, Frank Castle, and as it turns out, Jane is just a fan like you or I. And just like many fans do, Jane decided he wanted to make his own Punisher fan film, which he went ahead and did.

The result is a 10-minute short fan film titled Dirty Laundry, which sees Castle, living out of a van, trying to go about his day without getting involved in the very bad things going on in the very bad neighborhood he’s in. But, of course, things can only go so far.

Click on over to the other side to watch Jane’s Punisher fan film, but be warned: the short is very NSFW. He’s wearing a Yankees hat, and no one needs to see that crap. But seriously…it’s a really violent video.

The Movie God   |

If you’re a fan of the HBO comedies Hung, Bored to Death, or How To Make It In America, then you’re about to have a very bad day as HBO has decided to cancel all three of them. If you’re a fan of the new show Enlightened, on the other hand, you can rejoice as a second season has been ordered.

It’s unclear exactly why it was decided to cancel the three shows—Hung was the highest rated of all four of them and star Thomas Jane just scored another Golden Globe nomination, while Enlightened was struggling a bit in the ratings department but did land itself two Globe nominations, which likely helped a great deal.
