Last week on Bates Motel, Rebecca tried to get Romero (Nestor Carbonell) to confess while wearing a wire, but he caught on. Dylan and Emma (Max Thieriot and Olivia Cooke) were leaving, and Dylan tried one more time to get Norma (Vera Farmiga) to listen about Norman’s instability, at Romero’s urging. She refused to listen, and broke up with Alex for trying to get between her and her son. Norman (Freddie Highmore) found Emma’s mom’s suitcase and realized that they could not live in this world any longer. He lit the furnace and closed all the vents except for the room in which they were sleeping. Romero finds them and starts CPR on Norma, shredded by grief.

That Norma (Vera Farmiga) told the doctor of the abuse at the hands of Norman’s father, which is why she had to protect Norman. The real Norma met with Chick (Ryan Hurst) and basically lost her s**t around him in front of Alex (Nestor Carbonell). She confessed about her brother, but Romero didn’t care. He loves her and wants to stay with her. Dylan (Max Thieriot) went to pack his stuff to move to Seattle, despite Norma being upset about it, and found the letter Emma’s mom left.

Last week’s Bates Motel saw Norman (Freddie Highmore) try to throw himself into therapy. He did sneak a phone message to Norma (Vera Farmiga), then hallucinated that she visited him. Norman turned into Norma during therapy with Dr. Edwards (Damon Gupton). Norma asked Alex (Nestor Carbonell) if he killed Bob Paris, and he didn’t deny it. She was overwhelmed with gratitude, the magnitude of that washing over her.

Norma definitely is starting to like her new husband, and even goes to the Winter festival with him. Rebecca is sniffing around Romero (Nestor Carbonell) about Bob and money. Norman’s new bestie Julian drags him out for the night (after quite the easy escape), but a strip club is not Norman’s idea of fun. But it is Norma’s (great scene). eelyajekiM   |

The Conjuring 2 starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson

There were few recent films that were genuinely able to capture the essence of fright and scares like James Wan‘s The Conjuring. Now he’s back to follow that up with The Conjuring 2, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. However, the sequel will take them across the pond all the way to England where they will have to face what is described as England’s Amityville.
