Yahoo! has the theatrical trailer for Sony Pictures upcoming family fantasy movie The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep.
The story, based on the children’s book The Water Horse by Dick King-Smith, is about two children in Scotland who discover an egg, which hatches into a waterhorse that grows up to be the Loch Ness monster.
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep opens in theaters on December 25, 2007.
We saw this trailer during the previews before Evan Almighty and I’ll be honest, when I saw a Scottish landscape, a young boy wearing knickers, and star Emily Watson in frumpy clothing I thought, hmm… another movie about a poor, starving family in Europe with a young boy who beats the odds. Then I saw a CGI lizard/dinosaur-type creature and figured it must be about a poor, starving family in Europe with a young boy with a pet lizard/dinosaur who beats the odds. Pretty soon, you realize it’s about the Loch Ness monster and I’m totally down with that. I wonder how well this film will do with a Christmas day opening.
I’m down with that too! And I’ll be there Christmas day with my kilt on.
