Force-Choke a Wookiee as Darth Vader in ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’

Force UnleashedApparently I’ve been living under a rock, or at least been shielded by a rock that has kept me from seeing certain pieces of gaming news, because only last week did I make my first encounter with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed [even though it seems that Eve got a sneak peek of it at NYCC in April].

The latest game out of the LucasArts studios, The Force Unleashed is surely going to be a massive hit among Star Wars fanboys and gamers alike. Make sure to check out the trailer below, with the announcement and some awesome graphics.

The Force Unleashed will be available on the major three platforms, as well as the Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, and Playstation 2. Checking out the videos available at GameTrailers, your mind is immediately blown by the graphics available for the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3. It is unlike anything I have ever seen.

From a gameplay side of things, the creators are focusing on the ability to use the Force unlike anything ever experienced before. Massive abilities are open to you from the beginning, and the creators are more than willing to acknowledge that in some cases, it is just insane.

The big news point however, for those who were already aware of the game, is the revelation on Saturday that, for the first time ever in Star Wars gaming history, you will be able to play as Darth Vader. It will only be for one level — though how long that level will be is unknown — and you will inherit all the powers that comes with being the Dark Lord of the Sith. And yes, of course, that means you’ll be able to Force-choke a Wookiee.

And head on over to the official website to check out more mind-blowing sequences from the upcoming video game. The game will be on shelves September 16 of this year; definitely worth marking on your calendar. And if anyone wants to buy me a PS3 or Nintendo Wii, contact me and we’ll work something out.

  1. …I hate to burst your bubble chummer, but this is all really (really) old news, but hey, it sure does look like a sweet game. I for one can’t wait to get my grubby mits on it.

  2. Darth Vader was playable in at least one other game, Star Wars Battlefront II. The Wii version will also allow you to play Darth Vader in the duel mode.

  3. I don’t care if it’s old. Anyone who has the phrase, “Force-Choke a Wookie”, in the title of their article is alright by.

Is Wayne Brady gonna have ta Force Choke a Wookie???

    :)

Yeah, and looks like there’s ample reason for me to get the Wii version of a cross-platform game for once!
