Some pictures from the set of Joel Coen and Ethan Coen‘s upcoming western, True Grit, have found their way onto the internet.
These images, taken from across the street of where filming was taking place, focus mainly on recent Oscar winner Jeff Bridges. Bridges is of course taking on the role of Rooster Cogburn, which is the character made famous by the legendary John Wayne in the 1969 film. This new movie will not be a remake of that film, but it will actually be a new adaptation of the classic 1968 Charles Portis novel of the same name.
Not too much is going on in the pictures, but it’s cool to see Bridges as Rooster Cogburn, eye patch and all. You can also catch a peek at young Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the lead role of Mattie Ross. Be sure to click on over to the other side to check them out now, and head here for more set pics.
True Grit also stars Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, and Barry Pepper, and tells the story of a 14-year-old girl named Mattie Ross who in 1873 set off on a mission to avenge the ruthless murder of her father at the hands of a drifter who was hired to help on their farm.
The movie will be released on Christmas Day.
