The first trailer for director Clint Eastwood‘s new supernatural thriller, Hereafter, has arrived online.

The movie looks like interesting new territory for the 80-year-old machine that is Eastwood, somewhat stepping into other-worldly realms.

It stars Matt Damon as a man who has psychic abilities and is able to communicate with the deceased, which once saw him as an author and celebrity in paranormal communication. But as he tries to leave that life behind him, others who have looked death in the face seek him out as they pursue answers.

The movie is written by Peter Morgan (The Last King of Scotland, Frost/Nixon), and also stars Cécile de France, Frankie McLaren, George McLaren, Jay Mohr, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Richard Kind.

SYNOPSIS

Hereafter tells the story of three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. Matt Damon stars as George, a blue–collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cécile de France), a French journalist, has a near–death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers.
