The Morning Glory Academy continues to be a mystery with the release of Morning Glories #2 from Image Comics. The new class of students has just arrived for their first day of school and it’s already off to a bad start. The students find that they may have a common reason for being at the school.
In issue #2, the new class of Morning Glory Academy has landed themselves in detention and in deep waters. Each student’s reason for being in detention is revealed in a series of numerous flashbacks involving a secret cult in the basement, a crazy roommate, and refusal to answer a question. The students end up in a bad situation during detention and a student’s flashback reveals an interesting twist to this fantastic story.
Morning Glories is one of my favorite new series right now and that is saying a lot with only two issues released. The story of a group of students being enrolled in a prep school with tons of secrets makes for an interesting read. Issue #2 deals with character development of the new class of students. The compelling story, by Nick Spencer, makes me look forward to getting this title every month. The story gets better and better as a new issue is released. The art by Joe Eisma is fantastic. Eisma brings an interesting flair to an already creative story.
Morning Glories has secrets and mysteries that will keep readers of this series coming back for more. If you haven’t picked up issue #1, then what are you waiting for? Morning Glories is definitely a comic you should be reading every month.
