Hal Jordan - Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

Warner Home Video has released the trailer for their upcoming DC Universe original animated movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, which features the voice of Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan.

Watch the trailer here below. Above is a new image from the film.

As with Batman: Gotham Knights, the new Green Lantern feature will contain six interlocking stories. The stories, which were penned by some of today’s greatest comic book writers — Geoff Johns, Dave Gibbons, Peter J. Tomasi, Eddie Berganza, Alan Burnett, Todd Casey and Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim — center around the Green Lantern Corps and preparations for an attack on an ancient enemy.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be released direct-to-DVD on June 7, just before the June 17 theatrical release of the Warner Bros. live-action film, Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Synopsis

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is an all-new DC Universe Animated Original Movie that weaves six interlocking stories of the Green Lantern Corps’ rich mythology around preparations for an attack by an ancient enemy. As the battle approaches, Hal Jordan (voiced by Nathan Fillion, Castle) mentors new recruit Arisia (Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men) in the history of the Green Lantern Corps, telling tales of Avra (the first Green Lantern) and several of Hal’s comrades – including Abin Sur, Kilowog, Laira and Mogo. In the end, Arisia must rise to the occasion to help Hal, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern Corps save the universe from the destructive forces of Krona.

  1. I enjoyed “Green Lantern: First Flight” far more than I anticipated, so I’m definitely looking forward to this release! I only fear that these animated movies will make the live action feature appear sub-standard.
