BBC America is continuing their heavy online promotion for Doctor Who, which launched Series 6 this weekend on Saturday, April 23, and here at Geeks of Doom we’re winding down our Doctor Who Week of Geek event. Previously, we brought your attention to their video series of “Top 11’s for the Eleventh Doctor“; but now they want to find out from YOU — the fans — what you would do if you had your very own TARDIS or Time Machine.
Cast and crew from Doctor Who helped kick off the campaign with their own video wishes of what they would do with a time machine. You can view these videos from Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, Steven Moffat, and Toby Whithouse at the bottom of this post.
The campaign BBC America is pushing with these videos is for fans to submit their own time machine wishes to YouTube with the tag ‘ifihadatimemachine’, and on Twitter with the hash tag #ifihadatimemachine. All of the Twitter comments and YouTube videos from fans are being compiled at TimeMachineTales.com – which is actually hosted at Tumblr, an avenue that BBC is using to launch a lot of official features as of late, including an official Doctor WhoTumblr page.
The promotional campaign is adding to the already high level of anticipation that fans have for the upcoming season, which features Matt Smith returning as the Eleventh Doctor. Series 6 introduces new creepy villains, The Silents / The Silence, and heralds the return of the Cybermen later in the season as well.
