Catwoman Stunt Double Crashes Into IMAX Camera On ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Set

Catwoman stunt - Dark Knight Rises

There’s been tons of photos and videos coming out recently from the outdoor Pittsburgh, PA, set for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, most of which are coming courtesy of the likes of TMZ and Just Jared stalking the area. I don’t know about you, but at this point, I feel like I don’t even need to go see TDKR, since I’m getting to watch it being filmed!

Some of said filming is being done with IMAX cameras, same as was done on its predecessor, 2008’s The Dark Knight. Today, TMZ has posted video from the set of Catwoman’s stunt double crashing into a cameraman, reportedly damaging the IMAX camera he was using to film her.

The video was taken on the set on Friday, the same day Warner Bros. released the first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman riding the Bat-Pod. The video shows the stuntwoman driving down the steps of what’s supposed to be Gotham City Hall during a huge prison break turned riot out [you can see Batman and Bane battling it out on the steps here.]. When she gets to the bottom, she runs into the cameraman.

Head over to TMZ to watch the video. And no, this isn’t a stunts-gone-wild incident; it looks like maybe the cameraman didn’t hustle out of the way quickly enough.

Reportedly, TMZ was told that no one was injured and that the camera wasn’t either, even though in the video you can clearly see pieces of the equipment go flying and spewed up on the pavement.

Anyhow, why is this a big deal? Because IMAX cameras are super-expensive. Yeah, I know, this money is going to break all box office records and make boat-loads of money, so we shouldn’t be too concerned. Plus, do I care about IMAX? No, I personally do not. Smash all the damn IMAX cameras while you’re at it. It’s not worth the money for the camera and it’s definitely not worth the extra money out of my pocket to see the movie in an IMAX theater.

  1. I saw The Dark Knight in a ‘real’ IMAX theater and it was amazing!  Its the 3-D stuff that they can shove.

  2. Disagree..  IMAX is one of the only reasons I like the theaters anymore.  Not just the awesome huge picture.. but the sound is excellent.

  3. I’m caring less and less about this movie with every picture that I see.  This is obviously the climax of the movie, so yeah, we’ve sorta seen it all now.  And that stupid “Catwoman” costume has me hating it even more.

  4. This is a good time for Bale to go off on the camera man for not moving fast enough.

  6. ^this. idk what the writer has against the ultra-detailed clarity and goodness of IMAX but her hostilities are better directed at shoddy post-production 3D conversions.
