‘The Dark Tower’ Still Looking To Move Forward After Budget Cut

Apparently, there is a silver lining on the horizon for the long-discussed adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.

The Playlist is reporting that despite being shut down by Universal, the team of producer Brian Grazer, writer Akiva Goldsman, and director Ron Howard is not only still attempting to get the project off the ground, but has gotten the film’s budget cut down $45 million, going as far to say that “it’s going to get made.”

That’s a quote from Grazer himself, who appears confident even given the rather drastic cut from $145 million to roughly $100 million.  That all said, it is important to mention that, for all intents and purposes, this is only part one of what originally was not only going to be a film trilogy, but also a TV series running in the time between films, so things may not be set in stone just yet.  However, with this team of box office giants behind the project, things should continue to move forward, given this huge budget cut.

What do you think?
