Universal Pictures’s epic fantasy-adventure Snow White & The Huntsman isn’t due in theaters until next summer, but the studio has wasted no time in getting the advance hype train a-rollin’.
Yesterday they released the film’s impressive first teaser trailer and today we are being treated to a veritable cornucopia of new posters, including some character posters and one that gives us our first look at the star-studded film’s seven dwarves.
You can check out all the posters in a gallery here below.
In this latest telling of the classic tale of Snow White, the title character (played by Kristen Stewart of the Twilight movies) has been re-imagined as a hauntingly beautiful young woman whose overabundance of fairness (so says the magic mirror) makes her a serious threat to the dark reign of the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron, Prometheus).
The Queen orders a Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) to take Snow White into the forest and kill her but he relents and instead becomes her mentor in the art of combat. With the aid of the Huntsman, a warrior prince (Sam Claflin, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), and the fabled seven dwarves- played by Ian McShane (Deadwood), Toby Jones (Frost/Nixon), Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit), Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz), Ray Winstone (The Departed), Johnny Harris (Black Death), and Brian Gleeson (Wake Wood) – Snow White will face off against the Queen in a mighty battle that not even Walt Disney could have imagined.
Snow White & The Huntsman, directed by newcomer Rupert Sanders, opens on June 1, 2012.
