Summit Entertainment has released a new TV spot for their upcoming Christmas Day 3D sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour, and you can check it out here below.
The Darkest Hour tells the story of five young adults who find themselves trapped in Moscow during an alien invasion and must fight back against their otherworldly oppressors.
The film is directed by former art director/production designer Chris Gorak, who made his directorial debut five years ago with the superb thriller Right at Your Door. Jon Spaihts, who co-wrote Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel Prometheus, penned the screenplay. Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Max Minghella (The Social Network), Rachael Taylor (Transformers), and Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) star.
Summit’s latest release The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 just opened to the fifth highest first weekend box office gross of all time. Something tells me the studio will need all the cash they can get in their coffers to carry them through the forthcoming dry spell that will end with the release of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 next November.
