On last Thursday’s episode of the fan favorite NBC series Community showed us what happens when Abed loses himself to The Dark Knight.
Now, this isn’t the first time that Abed embraced his inner Bat, but this was the most elaborate. The show’s premise was that Abed and Troy got a hold of a super rare extended edition of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight that featured commentary and a personalized autograph from the movie’s star Christian Bale. Unfortunately, some things happened that lead the character to believe that the disc had been stolen. And of course that can only mean one thing for a man whose love for The Batman has been compromise, it’s time to dress up like The Caped Crusader. Make it so, Abed. Make. It. So.
What are you waiting for? Watch the episode here below! And then read my comments afterwards.

Now, here’s the thing folks, I’m pretty sure that this disc does not exist. I mean, come on. An extended extended cut of The Dark Knight? If it existed, I’d own it. For serious. Now, the other thing that I want to know is why wasn’t this a Blu-ray? Abed is a major cinephile and I would expect him to want to see the film in its intended IMAX format that’s visible in the Blu-ray format. It just doesn’t make sense! And if, IF it were a real thing, why wouldn’t it exist on the Blu-ray format? It’s more money that you can bleed from the consumers!
Anyway, I don’t think that this is what you’re supposed to get from the episode, but other than that, it’s really funny and should be watched by all. It’s classic Community in that it provides a ton of film and pop culture references while also providing a moral to the story. But if you want to give yourself your fair share of chuckles, then give the video a watch. Also, make sure to watch the series every Thursday night so it doesn’t get cancelled! If not for you, then think of the young man in The Batman costume. And no, I’m not talking about myself this time.
