The release of John Carter, Andrew Stanton‘s epic adaptation of the legendary Edgar Rice Burroughs sci-fi pulp adventures, is less than three weeks away and the creative madmen and madwomen at Mondo have cooked up an interesting little treat for the film’s IMAX 3D premiere.
Artist J.C. Richard has designed an exclusive John Carter commemorative poster that will be free to those who see the film at participating IMAX theaters on its first day of release.
The poster is, and this pun is absolutely intended, out of this world, depicting the film’s hero (played by Taylor Kitsch) standing before a breathtaking vista of beautiful alien cities and warring Martian spaceships. Needless to say, Disney should have made this the film’s official poster, but it’s too late to complain now.
You can check out the IMAX John Carter page for a list of participating theaters that will be posted soon. Supplies for the poster will be limited.
