Bradley Cooper started his big film career in comedy, but recent entries in his filmography have shown him flexing his drama muscles. But the actor hasn’t forgotten his comedic roots and you will be able to see him strut in Dax Shepard and David Palmer‘s comedy Hit and Run. And just to see what Cooper is capable of comedically, a new trailer has appeared online – watch it here below.
The film stars Shepard as Charlie Bronson, a former get-a-way driver who is now in witness protection who’s left a bad impression with his former employer (Cooper) on a job that didn’t go as originally planned. And when he goes to find Bronson and take back what is rightfully his, Bronson and his girlfriend (Shepard’s real-life fiancee, actress Kristen Bell) go on the run. Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Chenoweth, Beau Bridges, and Tom Arnold also star.
The trailer for Hit and Run begins with an intro from Shepard and Bell before getting into the goods. But as for the trailer itself, it isn’t bad, but it isn’t that good either. In it, Cooper’s breaking and entering into the wrong room seemed a bit funny, but figuring out which race raped Cooper’s character seemed to be the low point of the trailer. Its just one of those films that appear towards the latter end of the summer slate. Check out the trailer and judge for yourself if this movie should be on your radar.
Here’s the official synopsis, Hit and Run opens in theaters on August 24.
Charlie Bronson, a former getaway driver busts out of the Witness Protection Program to drive his girlfriend to Los Angeles so she can land her dream job. Their road trip grows awkwardly complicated, when they are chased by the feds, and increasingly dangerous, when Charlie’s former gang of criminals enter the fray.
