Ridley Scott‘s sci-fi/horror epic Prometheus doesn’t open in theaters in the U.S. until this Friday, although it has been playing in international markets for the past several weeks to mixed reactions and good box office. However, that has not prevented 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment from making the movie available for pre-order on DVD, Blu-ray, and 3D Blu-ray over at Amazon right now.
You can check out the cover art for the Blu-ray 3D combo pack here below.
Since an official release date for the discs has not been set as of now and no extra features have been announced, this can’t be seen as a rush release on the studio’s part, which would typically indicate a lack of faith in the movie’s theatrical prospects. The anticipation surrounding Prometheus has been huge, although early word from those who have seen Scott’s film in one of its overseas screenings has pegged it as either a massive letdown or at best a mild disappointment. I still plan on seeing it in 3D this weekend.
