Quentin Tarantino is back in full force and he his bringing his enthusiasm and energy with his take on the spaghetti western genre, Django Unchained. Oh, and the “D” is silent. Trust me when I say this, you will be more than satisfied after watching this trailer, which premiered on Fandango today; in fact, you may want to watch it over again. Check out the trailer here below.
The plot of the film is very simple. Django (Jamie Foxx), a former slave, teams up with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) and journeys across America to free his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the sadistic slave plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
You may not recognize that the trailer is for a Tarantino film at first, but once the tagline “The New Film By Quentin Tarantino” pops up, you will see that the movie has his signature written all over it. From the music to the dialogue, and the grotesque amounts of violence, Django Unchained is everything we’ve come to know and love about the filmmaker. I just love how everyone in this movie looks like they are having fun, especially DiCaprio. He seems to be relishing playing the role of the villain.
The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, and Tom Savini. Django Unchained opens on December 25th.
