Wu-Tang Clan frontman RZA has been working on The Man with the Iron Fists, a kung-fu classic inspired film produced by Quentin Tarantino, for quite some time, and now we finally have a first trailer.
The film is RZA’s debut as a director. He also co-wrote it with Eli Roth, director of Cabin Fever and Hostel. Now this isn’t to be confused with Marvel’s hero Iron Fist; this is something completely different.
You can check out the trailer below.
Complete with high-flying, fist-throwing action, The Man with the Iron Fists does hark to the days of classic kung fu movies, minus the bad dubbing of course. If anything, this trailer is only the tip of the iceberg. I just hope future trailers don’t release any additional footage.
The Man with the Iron Fists also stars Russell Crowe, who looks incredibly bad ass in the film, Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, Rick Yune, David Bautista, and many more.
You can watch the trailer in HD on IGN.
Here’s the synopsis:
Making his debut as a big-screen director and leading man, RZA””alongside a stellar international cast led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu””tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in nineteenth-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.
Since his arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soulless villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people.
