It’s not many comics that literally take you to another place when you open them up to read them, but this, is definitely one of them. You quickly forget where you are in the “real world” and are transported to a small town in frosty Wisconsin, where everything is not as quiet and peaceful as it seems from a bird’s eye view.

Writer Tim Seeley really hits his “suspense” stride in the writing of this book. We know he can write horror, but this book solidifies that he can do more. WAY more. I really hate to compare comics to other media, but this book has a really great Twin Peaks vibe to it. There’s the main mystery, but every place you go, every corner you turn, and every character you meet, more and more mystery and plot twists are revealed. By the end of the book, there are several plot threads that you’re interested in. Seeley weaves all of these together flawlessly and naturally, making for a great read.

MIKE NORTON everybody!!!! Sorry, Eisner Award winner, Mike Norton, everybody!!! Norton absolutely kills it on this book. The art is fantastic, it’s creepy when it needs to be, and quaint when it should be. He truly captures small town mid western living here, and it looks gorgeous. I grew up not too far from where this book takes place, and he has perfect accuracy depicting central Wisconsin. From the silos to the bare trees to the landscape, it’s ALL great!!! His page layouts are great, his characters look real and believable, from cover to cover, this book is stunning to look at. Norton has come a LONG way from the guy that I met 10 years ago drawing Voltron.

This is a MUST read!!!! It’s a really solid read, it’s perfect for both the superhero and non-superhero fan, and I would HIGHLY recommend that you give this to someone in your life that thinks comics are “silly” or “for kids.” This will make a brand new fan out of them. Honestly, I can’t recommend a book more than I do this one. Get it before it sells out!!!
