Clan of the Vein Image

“Only 14 hours until the Eve of White Nights…3 weeks of light, 24 hours a day. Only 14 hours left for good to prevail.”

That is the tagline for Clan of the Vein, an upcoming graphic novel and subsequent feature film from Neil D’Monte and Neo Edmund. One part Die Hard, one part Blade, and one part What Dreams May Come, Clan of the Vein aims to present a violent action-packed adventure with a love story at its core.

SYNOPSIS

The world has been rid of all vampires by a mysterious assassin named Ian MacBane. Or has it? MacBane, a vampire himself, has been living in isolation feeding his existence with a serum to avoid drinking the blood of the mortals he sought to protect. Earning his vast wealth by sales of his famed artwork, MacBane receives an invitation to an event showcasing his paintings. Spurred by the musical guest appearance of a mystery lady who has literally haunted his dreams, and his beautiful paintings, MacBane heads to an isolated resort made entirely of glass.

When he finally meets his beautiful ghost of a woman, Anais, the resort is invaded by a cult of the last remaining vampires known as The Children of Judas. Now MacBane must protect his fair lady love from the vampire savages who are searching for the last remaining blood of their vampire queen in a bid to repopulate their vampire species once again. MacBane has 14 hours until the light of dawn breaks through to save the woman of his dreams and stop a vampiric outbreak.

D’Monte works in the horror movie industry, having recently worked on Return of the Living Dead 3D: Reanimation with Reanimator star Jeffrey Combs and Coffin Baby (Toolbox Murders 2). He’s also done artistry and storyboarding for Day of the Dead and the upcoming Thicker.

Edmund is a comic book writer for Zenescope Comics titles Jurassic Strike Force and 1000 Ways to Die. He also just completed his first novel, titled Red Riding: Rise of the Alpha Huntress.

Colorist and letterer Jason Walton will also work on the graphic novel. His previous credits include Serpent Wars and Gate of the East Wind.

As for a release date, the Clan of the Vein graphic novel is tentatively scheduled for release sometime in 2013. The movie version is currently being developed, with pre-production planned for after the graphic novel is released.

The movie currently has a couple of A-list stars circling the male lead, and a few actresses circling the female lead. There’s also a well known rock band in talks to record the film’s soundtrack.

If interested, you can follow the project’s progress at its Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr pages.
