Brooklyn’s own A Pale Horse Named Death, featuring former members of Type O Negative and Life Of Agony, revealed today the album title, track listing, and release date for their sophomore effort, the follow-up to their well-received 2011 debut, And Hell Will Follow Me.

The upcoming album, which will contain 11 tracks and is currently in the mastering phase, is titled Lay My Soul to Waste and will be released by Steamhammer/SPV in North American on May 21, 2013 (May 24 in Germany, Switzerland, Austria; May 27 in the rest of Europe). Full album track listing is here below. The album’s artwork was penciled by Sam Shearon, who also did the cover for And Hell Will Follow Me.

Former Type O Negative and Life Of Agony drummer Sal Abruscato, who is the mastermind behind A Pale Horse Named Death, released the following statement regarding Lay My Soul to Waste:

“I can’t express in words how proud I am of our accomplishment. To finally complete our sophomore album, sit back and listen to what we have done is a great feeling. From our performances to Matt Brown’s mixes and finally having the album blessed by engineer and mastering great Ted Jensen, this album sounds bigger than the Grand Canyon. This album will surpass all expectations; it will be a privilege and an honor to present this album to all the fans.”

The band was created by Abruscato, who supplied the guitars and all lead vocals and drums on the first album, with sound engineer and guitarist Matt Brown of Seventh Void and Uranium 235 on guitars, bass, and backing vocals. After the album’s release in 2011, Abruscato hit the road as the band’s frontman with Brown on guitar, drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Seventh Void, Danzig, Earl’s Court), bassist Eric Morgan (First Order, Lament), and guitarist Bobby Hambel (Biohazard), touring Europe with a few shows in the United States. Hambel eventually backed out due to obligations to Biohazard and was replaced by Eddie Heedles, who’s been with the band since early 2012.
