The moment the test footage for the Edgar Wright-directed Ant-Man leaked online, the world got a sneak peak at what to expect from the hero who could manipulate his size easily. Judging by the reaction at last year’s SDCC and the leaked footage that was posted, a lot of people are excited to see Ant-Man come to life on the big screen.
Wright presented the test footage to audiences who attended a screening of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World at last night’s EW Cape Town Film Festival. There he talked about the status of the film and his eagerness to begin filming.
During the Q&A, Wright said that he had honed his skills as a director since directing Scott Pilgrim and The World’s End.
The film is still a long ways away from its November 6, 2015 release, but Wright has assured that as soon as he is done with The World’s End he would jump right into directing Ant-Man. But as to who would take the lead role in the film, that is still very much in the air.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talked about why they have been unable to get someone to sign on to play the iconic character:
Yes, they are still rewriting the Ant-Man script, but Feige offers a very good reason as to why the script isn’t completed:
It’s great to know Ant-Man will very much be the way that Wright had envisioned it while having a Marvel Cinematic Universe spin to it. Let’s just hope we see a shortlist of actors Marvel would like to see play Ant-Man in the coming weeks.

Do we know WHICH Ant-Man they are putting in the movie verse yet? I’m actually hoping we get to see Pym (& also then Janet van Dyne).
