Amid all the reported behind the scenes problems and reshoots, Thor: The Dark World looks mildly impressive, expanding the Marvel Cinematic World by exploring new realms. A second trailer has been released for the sequel, which you can watch here below.
Like every Marvel hero, there is some force that puts the world or their love interest in some sort of danger, and only he has the power to stop it. There are epic worlds, amazing set pieces, and let’s not for get the action sequences. All those epic battles and threats of multi-realm destruction, and still we do not know what Maliketh (Christopher Eccleston) has planned for Thor in this new movie. We briefly see him make a threat to someone very close to Thor in the first trailer, but other than that, we don’t quite know what his motivation is. Which is fine. I think it worked wonderfully for Iron Man 3.
And like Iron Man 3, there are plenty of references to The Avengers. There’s Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) giving Loki (Tom Hiddleston) a piece of her mind for what he did to New York. Thor also has his resentments, but still has his brotherly bond with Loki. It should be interesting to see how everything plays out, and whether the events in this film has any sort of effect on The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
So check out the new trailer below, and give us your thoughts.
Directed by Alan Taylor, Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters on November 8, 2013.
