If you’ve read author George R.R. Martin‘s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series or have seen the HBO series based on the books, Game of Thrones, then you’re very much aware that there are some horrendously evil characters residing in that world.
So when Martin himself says that the main character of the hit AMC series Breaking Bad, Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston), is worse than all of them? Then you know that, well…this. Even crazier, Martin thinks he now has to top White with someone even more evil. Yikes.
Continue below to read Martin’s quote.
Martin actually takes it step further in his actual quote, saying White is not only worse than anyone on Game of Thrones, but anyone in the world of Westeros. That includes any and all baddies we’ve yet to meet on the show.
Here’s the quote from his blog, talking about this past Sunday’s episode:
Amazing series. Amazing episode last night. Talk about a gut punch.
Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros.
(I need to do something about that).
Do you agree that Walter White is more of a monster than anyone in Westeros? I shudder to even think of what a new character would need to do to become more evil than some of the characters we’ve seen and read about already.
I take issue with all reviews that say Walter White is evil or a monster. I don’t think that is remotely accurate. He’s a strategist and tries to be successful and does not go out of his way to hurt anyone. The times he has, he was forced into the decision basically by events that were unfolding.

If Walter White is more evil than Gregor Clegane or any random Bolton then maybe I should start watching breaking bad.
