In an attempt to help boost its sagging ratings and further bond its continuity to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an upcoming episode of the ABC series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be directly impacted by the events of Thor: The Dark World, which is set for release in theaters this Friday.
Below is the plot synopsis of the episode titled “The Well,” which is directed by Commander Riker himself, Jonathan Frakes.
“In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.”
Rumors persist that one of the movie’s stars could make a cameo appearance in the episode. Frakes has also directed episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Castle, Leverage, Burn Notice, and N.C.I.S.: Los Angeles, as well as the feature films Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Clockstoppers, and Thunderbirds.
“The Well” will air on Tuesday November 19, 2013. Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters on Friday November 8, 2013.
