Before 2013 ends and 2014 begins, Marvel Studios has teased us with four new images from the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson, with brand new looks at the sequel’s villains, played by Sebastian Stan and Robert Redford.
The images debuted over at Empire Magazine and will appear in their December 31st print issue. Hit the jump to check out the new images.
Well these are those promo images that speak a thousand words, so describing them wouldn’t do much good.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier also stars Frank Grillo, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, and Emily VanCamp. Disney will release Marvel Studios’ latest Phase 2 film on April 4, 2014.
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy””the Winter Soldier.
I don’t know if Redford’s character is confirmed as a villain and thought it was only speculation at this point. Though, judging from his voice over in the trailer and the person we believe he’s speaking to, it would seem to paint him as a bad guy.
