Super Bowl XLIX Arizona (2015)

During Sunday night’s Super Bowl, we posted throughout the evening the Super Bowl commercials that pertained to movies and television that were aired during the big game as well as during the pre-Game, Halftime, and post-Game shows.

But, there’s still a lot more ad offerings from Super Bowl XLIX — which saw the returning champs The Seattle Seahawks go up against The New England Patriots in Glendale, Arizona’s University Of Phoenix Stadium — that we didn’t get to post. So now, we’re collecting them all here below for your enjoyment, since there was plenty of new TV and movie footage revealed, and of course, those clever and celebrity-filled product commercials.

I didn’t include every commercial shown, as some didn’t pertain to our type of entertainment and some I just didn’t enjoy or care about. Instead, I’ve embedded most of the movie and TV spots, along with my favorites from all those car and soda-type adverts, most of which feature celebrities.

Always “Like A Girl”

For young girls, confidence plummets during puberty and many never fully recover. Always is on an epic battle to end that by changing the meaning of the phrase #LikeAGirl from an insult to mean downright amazing things. It’s inspiring to us, knowing that our original film started to change perceptions. But that’s not enough. We need to reach more girls, women, boys and men—to spread the word big time.

This ad features a clip of Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel from 21 years ago doing a segment on The Today Show where they were confounded by this new invention called the Internet, then shows today them trying to get used to the new all-electric BMW i3.

I guess here I can put in a few of the WORST Super Bowl Ads of 2015:

Budweiser Lost Puppy Super Bowl Ad

I’m purposely not embedding what was reportedly the most popular commercial to aired, which is the Budweiser ‘Lost Dog’ ad. Yes, it was adorable and was pulling at my heartstrings, until the part with the wolf come on. The lost puppy from last year’s Bud ad is fighting his way back home and comes across an angry, threatening wolf, from which the Budweiser Clydesdales must save him. There was zero reason to put the wolf in there as the “villain.” So, instead of the ad (look, people are going to drink beer no matter what, so I’m not worried about Anheuser-Busch’s profits declining from my little omission here), I’ll give you a link to a petition, which has information on why Budweiser did the wrong thing with this ad. In this instance, I just think the company went with a popular misconception of the animal, I don’t think they meant any harm, but they do need to be educated.

Go Daddy Super Bowl Ad

On the other hand – Go Daddy needs to just go away forever. They are the worst. Geeks Of Doom used to use their services until 2011 when it was discovered that the CEO was big into bragging about elephant hunting (F that). This year, the company had a Super Bowl spot that was leaked online ahead of Sunday’s game and it led to public outrage because it showed a puppy finding his way home only to have the owner laugh about selling the animal to an Internet puppy mill. The ad ended showing the puppy crying as he’s tossed into the back of the puppy mill van. (WTF?!?!?!?) The controversy led to GoDaddy using a different ad for the Super Bowl, but seriously, fuck them. Fuck them, in plain English.

Fifty Shades of Grey Super Bowl Spot

Ugh, this movie looks so damn stupid and the two leads have zero sexual chemistry. If the dialogue for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is anything like the book (which I had a friend read some of to me over the phone), then please no thank you. But, here’s the Super Bowl spot – enjoy if you will.

Note, for a limited time, Teefury is offering up a Marvel-themed Super Bowl XLIX charity t-shirt called Chris vs Chris for only $11 in a design that pits Captain America (The Avengers) against Star-Lord (Guardians Of The Galaxy). The shirt will be available for sale through February 10, 2015, and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the two aforementioned charities.
