We won’t know if Frozen is getting a sequel anytime soon, but given its massive popularity, fans will probably enjoy the new short that continues the story of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven. Frozen Fever, features the five characters in an all new adventure, which can be seen right before showings of Disney’s new live-action Cinderella, opening in theaters on March 13, 2015.
Five new images from the short appeared online today, and they show a whole new side of Frozen that we didn’t see the first time around. Hit the jump to check out photos from Frozen Fever.
The images first appeared on USA Today. In Frozen Fever, from Frozen directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and producer Peter Del Vecho, Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) are determined to give Anna (Kristen Bell) the best birthday party ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk. Josh Gad will reprise his voice role as the endearing living snowman Olaf.
Here’s how Gad describes coming back to voice Olaf again:
“The gang is back together. And literally it’s like we never went away,” says Gad. “Every day we’re reminded of Frozen in our lives. So it feels like a continuation of a saga that has many parts still untold. It felt like coming home again after a short absence.”
The new short will also feature a song from Oscar-winning song writers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The two warn that this new song may be just as catchy as “Let It Go.”
