New Girl Season 4 Episode 14: “Swuit”
Starring Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, Damon Wayans Jr., and Hannah Simone FOX
Air Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 9pm
The silliness continues from last week when Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Nick (Jake Johnson) vow to go into business together. However, they both have to be the boss, which results in the requisite laughter (not for them). The masterpiece that results in this partnership is the “Swuit” — a suit made out of a sweatsuit. Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is their cheerleader, therapist, and ultimately, their model. CeCe (Hannah Simone) has no money for college, so Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.) decide to invest in her life and take it just a bit too far.
New Girl has a talent for allowing these young singles to grow while not growing up. Schmidt is by far the funniest character because he is so serious and intense about everything, yet so out there. I know it’s supposed to be a show circling “new girl” Jess, but he steals every episode.
Favorite Winston quote: (bopping to Schmidt’s brain music-80s synthesizer) “This sounds like the video in middle school that taught me about periods.”
Favorite Schmidt quote: (trying to figure out what Nick’s “man problems” are according to Jess): “Did the squirrels get to the tulip bulbs?”
