Benedict Cumberbatch Honeymoons at Jimmy Kimmel Live

Benedict Cumberbatch broke the hearts of women around the world this past weekend when he wed his pregnant fiancee, Sophie Hunter, on Valentine’s Day in an intimate ceremony on the British Isle of Wight. But instead of gallivanting off on a honeymoon with his new wife, the Sherlock actor honored his commitment last night to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Host Jimmy Kimmel said that since the Academy Award-nominated actor had gotten married on Saturday in England and was now there with him on a Monday night in Los Angeles, he would try to make the experience feel more like a honeymoon. That’s when the backdrop changed to a tropical setting and Kimmel quipped out what turned out to be the worst pina coladas ever made. The two sipped their umbrella drinks as Kimmel gave suggestions for baby names.

Watch the Cumberbatch-Kimmel honeymoon segment here below, along with other interview clips from the late-night appearance.

Benedict Cumberbatch is no stranger to dealing with people either mocking or messing up his surname. Kimmel suggested he name his baby something that begins with the letter Q, so that no matter what, the child can be called “Q. Cumberbatch” (the poor child). From what Cumberbatch said, it would seem that the baby will take his surname, although it’s interesting to point out that while he goes by his real surname, his actor parents — Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham — have stages names. (His mom and dad appeared on the season 3 premiere episode of Sherlock playing the title character’s parents.)

Back in January after the actor’s Oscar nomination (for Best Actor for The Imitation Game) was announced, Cumberbatch made a video for the Jimmy Kimmel Live where he tried out a variety of new names.
