It’s been a long, strange trip to get Powers, the Brian Michael Bendis/Michael Avon Oeming comic book series, to the small screen, but the day has finally arrived. The first episode of Powers is now available for viewing for free on PlayStation Network for free to anyone with a PSN account, as well as online through PlayStation’s website.

You can also watch the entire premiere episode in the video embedded here below.

The entirety of the first season is free for PlayStation Plus members, with non-members paying $24.99 for HD and $17.99 for SD respectively for the full season. You can also pay $2.99 (HD) or $1.99 (SD) per episode, with the first 3 episodes being available today. New episodes will premiere each Tuesday for the rest of the season.

Powers is based on the comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, and stars Sharlto Copley (District 9, Chappie) as Detective Christian Walker, a homicide detective who specializes in cases that deal with people with super powers. He is teamed up with a new partner named Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward “” The Following, Poltergeist). The series also stars Eddie Izzard (The Riches, Hannibal), Michelle Forbes (Battlestar Galactica, True Blood), Noah Taylor (Almost Famous, Game of Thrones), Olesya Rulin (High School Musical, Greek), and Logan Browning (Bratz, Meet the Browns).

You can watch a special look at the series here or the trailer for the show here, if you haven’t decided to watch it yet. Or you can just log in and start watching it now. If you’ve watched it already, are you in for the season? Let us know what you think of the series so far.

Real Power Lies Within

Powers, an edgy dramatic series, follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as “Powers.” Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?

Enter the men and women of the Powers Division, the brave people in charge of protecting humans like us and keeping the peace over commercialized, god-like men and women who glide through the sky imposing their power over the mortals who both worship and fear them.

  1. I hate to rain on any parades, but so far so bad. Terrible acting, unless it’s just the script. Great idea, horrible execution. I figured it would be bad since it was Playstation series, but still disappointed anyway.
