January saw the release of the first look photos from Season 5 of Game Of Thrones, while last week we got to see Arya Stark’s New Look, as well as the Game Of Thrones covers for Entertainment Weekly.
Now, the magazine has another sneak peek at the HBO series with some new images from Season 5, as well as pictures and outtakes from their exclusive cover photoshoot with the cast. Check them out here below, along with all the previously released photos from the upcoming season.
While there are several all-new images, some of EW’s photos are ones that HBO previously released, such as the one here at top of Carice van Houten as Melisandre The Red Woman; while others are variations on previously shot scenes.
As with previously released images, there’s the newly bearded Tyrion Lannister on the lamb in Pentos with new cohort, the eunich Varys; dark Sansa Stark and Littlefinger; Jon Snow with sword in hand at Castle Black; Ellaria and Areo Hotah; and Margaery Tyrell with her ladies in waiting at Kings Landing. But this time around, we finally get to see Daenerys Targaryen and her loyal aid Missandei in Meereen.
A new trailer for Season 5 — which has Daenerys Targaryen revealing her plans to crush her enemies across the sea who are warring for the Iron Throne, her rightful claim by birth — was released recently in conjunction with the announcement of HBONOW, an online subscription service where users can watch movies and television shows from their Apple devices without needing a cable subscription.
The first trailer, released earlier this year, was set to David Bowie’s “Heroes” and featured the incestuous Lannister twins; the aforementioned estranged Tyrion; the ever-maneuvering Littlefinger and long-desired travel companion, the darker Sansa Stark; a hint of pre-transformation Arya Stark holding her sword Needle; and much more.
Season 5 of Game Of Thronespremieres on HBO on April 12, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. A behind-the-scenes featurette titled Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Day In A Life, which aired in February and takes a look at one day of production for Season 5 on three different sets in three different countries, is online for viewing now.
Catch up with Season 4 now so you’re ready for the new episodes!
