With Entourage set to hit theaters tomorrow, the boys at Screen Junkies saw it timely to give us an Honest TV Trailer for… well you guessed it, Entourage. I’d like to preface this review by admitting that I never watched one episode of the show on HBO. That said, narrator Jon Bailey hits it out of the ballpark right away, with a dead-on comparison to Sex and the City. That being four women shamelessly having sex in NY, versus Entourage being four guys shamelessly having sex in LA. An LA filled with “boobs, butts, bongs, chicks, and NO black people!”
Watch the hilarious video below.
Meet the cast of leeches who cling to Vince (Adrian Grenier) including the crazy racist and sexist Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). And in a great bit, comparing Kevin Dillon’s Drama character to… Kevin Dillon… “the under-appreciated brother of a much popular sibling.” The show apparently had no obstacles to overcome, “follow them from the highs, to even higher highs!”
The best part of the show I’d assume are the celebrity cameos, and they show a bunch here to prep for the movie: Tom Brady, Matt Damon, 50 Cent, and more. They do a great bit by talking about stars who either appeared or were discussed early in the show’s run (it started in 2004). After showing Ken Jeong, pre-Hangover, they show a clip of Ari mocking “that midget from The Station Agent.” Of course, if you didn’t see that film, of course it’s Tyrion himself from HBO’s Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage.
While the HT is on the longer side (6-minutes), and covers the same material a bit excessively, there are some great lines scattered throughout. Bailey compares the show to alcohol, as in watching it is fun, but binging it may make you angry and nauseous. And after 6-minutes watching this, I really wanted to punch Turtle in the face. And since it started over a decade ago there are some hilarious outdated cultural references to things like Blockbuster Video and MySpace. The alternate title for this one, “The Real Douchebags of Broverly Hills.” I got a chuckle from that.
