Last week on Olympus, we had one of the best episodes yet. King Minos (Alan C. Peterson) and his men captured Athens. Ariadne slit Pallas’s (John Emmet Tracy) throat. Lykos (Wayne Burns) was most upset. He and King Aegeus (Graham Shiels) get thrown in the dungeon. The cliffhanger was a scorpion about to strike a bound Oracle (Sonya Cassidy), thanks to Ariadne (Sophia Lauchlin Hirt). Hero (Tom York) escapes by agreeing to let Minos’s priests (really Medea – Sonita Henry), bleed him for The Lexicon. He stops time and vanishes in front of their eyes.
Olympus 1.9 “Pandora’s Tomb” review: I am a little perturbed at Hero from being so easily swayed and fickle in his love. One night of snuggling with Ariadne and he loves her? They keep showing that golden apple, so it’s either the power of that, or Hero really does have the enotional maturity of a 12-year old. That could be it since he is a virgin.
King Aegeus is acting like an insane spoiled brat. Lykos gets hurt or dead trying to save him. Then Aegeus marches proudly to his almost execution. You see, Oracle got her vision wrong. It wasn’t Aegeus that would bring about the destruction of Athens and the gods – it’s Hero. She stops the execution just in time.
Medea ends up tied to some stakes in the ground with a corpse on top of her. Just watch.
Hero gets the Ring of the Magi back, but then has to jump into a mysterious tomb to save Ariadne. The tomb, belonging to Pandora, promptly seals. What will happen to them?
Now I’m not sure what’s going on. I’m counting on Medea to save the day, and Hero, and Ariadne, and Aegeus, and Athens, and everybody. I really hope Lykos isn’t dead, because he seems the true leader of Athens. I’m also waiting for Daedalus to be more at the forefront. The story is moving a lot faster now. I’m super curious to see what is inside the tomb.
Olympus airs Thursday nights at 11pm ET on Syfy.
