Last week, the gang at Screen Junkies did an Honest Trailer for Insurgent, the second film of the Divergent series. Now they return to finish the biggest YA series ever, by doing the “4th film in the Hunger Games trilogy” (let that marinate for a second). You liked the first one, and loved the second one, but were completely bored out of your mind by the hella-depressing 2-hour prologue to the even more depressing 2+ hour finale… so strap in for the final Honest Trailer, for this series of films… even narrator Jon Bailey apologizes for the repetitiveness of his jokes.
Check out the Honest Trailer below.
Watch as Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) finally finishes her epic revenge quest of killing President Snow… by not killing President Snow (Donald Sutherland). Bailey hits the nail right on the head describing the feel of the third… I mean fourth film, which totally captures the feel of the third book. “Instead of the war you’ve been waiting for, gear up for a depressing parade of other stuff like filming viral videos, district talk, and hanging out with Tiger People.” Bailey then continues his multi-HT joke about how no one can stop talking about stupid Peeta. And really Peeta is written and played like such an absolute annoyance, it’s hard to take it seriously. And then she chose Peeta over Gale!!! Bailey might have a man-crush on Liam Hemsworth… no check that, he does.
Starring: Katniss Ever-done with these movies, Malory Archer (Julianne Moore’s President Coin) HAHA!, More Captain Phasma than in Star Wars, Hey – Mitch, You’re done with these movies?, finally Bailey gives up, since it felt like the makers of the franchise kinda gave up. I don’t blame them, Mockingjay was an ultra depressing ending that left no room for any positive feelings at the end… so I guess the movie sorta did get it right. He can’t even bother a new title, as he just wants YA series to go away.
Screen Junkies have over 5.2 million subscribers on YouTube and release new Honest Trailers every Tuesday.
After two child-murdering Super Bowls and one feature length prologue,The Hunger Games trilogy comes to an anticlimactic end in the 4th and final installment: Mockingjay part 2. Gear up for more of Katniss and her friend fighting a war we never actually get to see!
