Shadow of the Beast PS4

Many of you may have played a game long ago titled Shadow of the Beast, which was first published in 1989 for the Commodore Amiga and was later released on various other platforms.

The game was a side-scrolling platformer in which you play as a vicious warrior creature battling its way through various enemies. Now an updated version of the game has been made for the PlayStation 4, which maintains the same side-scroller style but with much improved visuals.

A new behind the scenes video has been released for Shadow of the Beast, which also reveals a release date for the game. You can find it below.

Ferocious combat…
Carve out a legend

Without pity; without mercy. Take control of the beast Aarbron and unleash an unstoppable tide of brutality on all who stand between you and your vengeance.

Tear your way through entire armies, exploring ancient lands in search of the evil mage Maletoth. Draw strength from slaughter; spill the blood of armed regiments and monstrous hordes alike to fuel your frenzy and unlock brutal new attacks and takedowns.

Bring out your dead! Devour the souls of fallen friends to gain powerful enchantments or summon their shadows to aid in battle. Collect arcane talismans to augment your skills and master Aarbron’s brutal techniques to cut down your enemies.

Stunning environments…

Traverse the mystical world of Karamoon, vaulting chasms, scaling rock faces and dodging lethal traps as you march onward. A bold reimagining of the 1989 Amiga classic, Shadow of the Beast unveils a universe where futuristic technology and anceint empires dwell side by side.

Shadow of the Beast will be released on May 17th.

Survive epic boss battles and tackle hordes of enemies in ferocious adrenaline-fuelled action. Develop abilities with skill points earned from the death of your opponents, unlocking increasingly brutal moves as you draw power from the blood of your foes.

The story of Aarbron is told once more. Re-live the legend.

Nearly 25 years ago, a game was released that would burn a lasting impression on the mind of gamers, Shadow of the Beast on the Amiga. It followed a monstrous warrior named Aarbron as he sought revenge against the beast lord that transformed him from a human. Now, Heavy Spectrum Games – a new studio comprised of devs who’ve worked on Need For Speed, Star Fox, Battlefield, and the Sims – is bringing the story to a whole new audience, re-imagining Shadow of the Beast as a hyper violent next-gen adventure.
