Mafia III

We’ve seen previews of the long-awaited next game in the Mafia series, but now we have the first extended gameplay demo.

For E3 2016 developer Hangar 13 has released a lengthy 22-minute gameplay demo for Mafia III, as well as a new trailer to go along with it. The gameplay demo is a little bit different from the ones we usually see, which often show one section of the game being played. For the Mafia III demo they jump around to a few different things to really jam-pack the video with lots of information on the game for those anxious to play it.

You can check out the gameplay demo and trailer below.

I was already super excited for Mafia III as a big fan of the first game and especially the second game, but I really loved the 1930s to ’50s settings of the first two games and was a little worried about jumping up to the late ’60s. That and I was nervous it wouldn’t live up to expectations. That worry will exist in some way until I actually play it, but these two videos definitely have me about as excited as I could be about diving into this brutal virtual world. I just hope that they change the way your character throws explosives from cover before the game arrives. Perhaps it’s just me, but a quick backwards flick of the wrist tossing something that far looks really odd.

The game will be released on October 7th, and can be pre-ordered for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

You can find more on Mafia III right here, and all of our E3 2016 coverage can be found right here if you missed anything.
