Battlefield 1

You might think that you’ve seen it all with video games. Especially in the last handful of years with unpopular trends popping up left and right. Then this slaps your eyes.

Collector’s editions of video games are a great way for people who are fully sold on an upcoming release to acquire some added goodies for a little bit more coin. Usually these come with collectible replicas of items found in the game, statues, and various other things. Oh yeah, and the game itself! Obviously. But a new Amazon exclusive Battlefield 1 collector’s edition is changing this up a bit. It’ll cost you $130 ($104 if you’re a Prime member), and does come with the aforementioned collectible goodies. What it does not come with, however, is the freakin’ game.

Amazon’s Battlefield 1 Exclusive Collector’s Edition comes with things like a nice statue, a steelbook, a cloth poster, a deck of cards, a messenger tube containing DLC content, and a patch. Here’s what the items look like:

Battlefield 1 Exclusive Collector's Edition

Not bad for some…if it actually came with the game, which looks like a lot of fun if you’re into these types of games. Though I’d personally never drop an extra $70 to get these items. Spending $130 to get JUST these items is beyond comprehension. Not including the video game in a video game collector’s edition is truly mind numbing stuff. You have to AT LEAST include a digital code. One can only wonder at this point if this is the start of a new headache-inducing trend.

If for some reason you’re a Battlefield mega-fan and you need to own this collector’s edition anyway, you can pre-order it right here. You can also get the deluxe version for $210, which comes with the $80 Deluxe Edition of the video game plus all of the Collector’s Edition items above.

Battlefield 1 hits store shelves on October 21st. If you only care about the actual game, you can pre-order for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 now.

A new gameplay series video looking at the weapons of the game was released recently and can be seen below.
