Okay, first off, if I have to try to convince you to buy a comic that contains eight premiere issues for a measly six bucks then I might just have to reassess what I am doing here.
I have reviewed any number of these titles at different times and I cannot even begin to stress to you how great of a deal this is. Dark Horse Comics continues to amaze me with their marketing strategies. I can think of no better way to test out some new comics than with this compilation. Folks, I present to you Dark Horse Number Ones!
Some of the characters are well known while others are not. But don’t despair, there is something here for everyone. I have only recently become aware of some like Black Hammer but I have been a long time fan of Hellboy and The Umbrella Academy. I stumbled upon Dept. H and have loved every page of it, not to mention my fascination with Harrow County month after month.
So do yourself a solid and grab this one as soon as possible, then make your way back to pick up all the subsequent issues that you will be surely yearning for afterwards. Happy reading!
Dark Horse’s top talent invite you to find your next binge read! This anthology includes Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s The Umbrella Academy #1, Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell #1, Joëlle Jones and Jamie S. Rich’s Lady Killer #1, Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Black Hammer #1, Matt and Sharlene Kindt’s Dept. H #1, Brian Wood and Mack Chater’s Briggs Land #1, Kurtis Wiebe and Mindy Lee’s Bounty #1, and Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook’s Harrow County #1.
A deeply discounted collection of first issues for new or curious readers.
