Now here is a comic that breathes all new life into the lyrical line “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” In Klaus and the Crisis in Xmasville #1, our hero is determined to right wrongs by kicking the most ass possible. If you have read the previous comic then you know he is a stubborn immortal with a penchant for getting what he wants.

Klaus has no vested interest in the mortal world, for the most part. But when one of his favors is called in, he is forced to see that a century old enmity has been revived and that which he thought was finished, is in actuality not. But this is a can of worms that he is not quite initially prepared for, though that changes quickly.

Enlisting the assistance of Grandfather Frost and Snowmaiden, Klaus readies himself for a battle royale. Battling an army of Santas to save the world is just another day at work for our hero. Dirty tricks and evil doings are no match for Klaus, once he determines what needs to be done. As the fiendish plans fall apart, he finds himself with but one choice.

Writer extraordinaire Grant Morrison brings his pseudo-hero to the printed page once more in this wondrously enchanted one shot comic. Dan Mora shows off his superb artistic skills once again, bringing our wintry tale to life. The combined might of these two is like a one-two punch, keeping the reader entranced until the very last page.

I have enjoyed this character since the beginning and I found no reason to change my mind with this story. Fully contained and easy to follow, it embodies what comics are all about. I would recommend this as a great stocking stuffer for that comic nerd in your life. Bring a little blood and gore back to your holiday celebration with this new Klaus story.

Eisner Award-winning creator Grant Morrison (All-Star Superman) and Russ Manning Award winner Dan Mora (Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers) reunite for a brand-new Klaus Special! An evil Santa from an alternate dimension has founded an evil soda corporation that uses Christmas and Santa as a marketing tactic to build their fortunes. Only Klaus can defeat the Pola Cola Corp and the zombie-like Santas that are in the evil Santa’s thrall.
