Josh Brolin as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War

You might have noticed that Avengers: Infinity War came out over the weekend. The highly anticipated film broke all kinds of box office records, and in doing so, it made itself the number one film around the world, grossing over $640.5 million.

But as many of us mourn the loss of our heroes – not a spoiler, you all knew it was coming – Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is sending his heartfelt thanks to the fans that have stuck around for the past ten years. But that’s not all. Lucasfilm is also congratulating Marvel Studios for dethroning their Star Wars: The Force Awakens box office reign. Check out both messages in the full story, below.

First, the thank you from Feige:

Just in case you cannot read the embed, here’s the text:

To the greatest fans,

The past ten years have been an unforgettable ride and we couldn’t have done it without the entire team at Marvel Studios, our incredible talent in front and behind the camera, the visionary comic book creators, but most importantly you.

Thank you for embracing these characters and stories since we kicked off the MCU ten years ago. This past weekend was a result beyond our wildest dreams.

On behalf of everyone here at Marvel Studios, we thank you for being the best fans in the Universe and making Avengers: Infinity War the biggest opening weekend of all time.

Kevin Feige.

Like Ryan Coogler’s thank you letter to the fans after Black Panther‘s enormous success, Feige’s letter comes after the world has embraced Avengers: Infinity War. While there is no need to break down the letter, if you cannot see the image in the embed, just know that there are some interesting trinkets surrounding the letter, things that include a Loki helmet keychain, an Infinity War production baseball cap, a Tivan collection name tag with Kevin written on it, and an Infinity Gauntlet. But that wasn’t the only letter to be sent out in light of the film’s success.

The people over at Lucasfilm sent their own congratulations in the form of a tweet. The image itself isn’t as busy as Marvel’s, but you will see Rey handing Luke’s lightsaber to Iron Man:

Again, if you cannot read the embed, here’s the text:

From a Galaxy far, far, away…

To Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

CONGRATULATIONS

on the biggest opening weekend in history.

From Kathy and everyone at Lucasfilm

Avengers: Infinity War is out in theaters now. And be sure to check out our review and any other coverage of the film here.
