STX Entertainment has released an official trailer for the upcoming action thriller Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner.
The movie follows a woman seeking justice after her family is brutally murdered. And when that doesn’t go the way she expects, she decides to take matters into her own hands. So basically it’s Jennifer Garner as the Punisher. What more does one need than that?

SYNOPSIS:
Peppermint is an action thriller which tells the story of young mother Riley North (Garner) who awakens from a coma after her husband and daughter are killed in a brutal attack on the family. When the system frustratingly shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerilla. Channeling her frustration into personal motivation, she spends years in hiding honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force – eluding the underworld, the LAPD and the FBI – as she methodically delivers her personal brand of justice.
Starring alongside Garner in Peppermint is John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook, Kong: Skull Island, The Cloverfield Paradox), John Gallagher Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane, Short Term 12, Hush), and Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos, The 33, Six).
The film is directed by Pierre Morel, who previously directed the original Taken, From Paris with Love, and The Gunman. The screenplay was penned by Chad St. John, who worked on the script for London Has Fallen and even wrote, interestingly enough, that Punisher short film Dirty Laundry with Thomas Jane reprising his role as the character he played in 2004’s The Punisher.
Peppermint is set to be released in theaters later this year on September 7th.
