With the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones set to finally arrive just one short month from now, excitement is of course off the charts. We saw proof of that in the recently released official trailer for the new season, which blasted HBO’s previous record holder for views by twenty million. On YouTube alone, it’s been viewed over 45 million times.
But while the final season of the series is what fans are most excited about, it’s not the only thing they have to look forward to. Just this week multiple new goodies with ties to the show have been announced. This includes a new board game titled Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker, some new books, and even a John Varvatos clothing line.
You can find more info on all of these offerings below, along with a bonus video which looks at the prosthetics created for the show.
Here are the details on the board game:
Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker is a game of deception for 5-8 players. One player claims the Iron Throne. The others become Lords and Ladies of the great houses of Westeros, scheming for the King’s favor, for power, or to bring a dynasty to its knees.
Loyalists square off against traitorous conspirators in a game where secret agendas intertwine, and only the wise can tell allies from enemies.
Lavishly illustrated with photos from the hit HBO® original series, Game of Thrones: Oathbreaker captures all the twists and turns of Westeros in a game that’s fast, fun, and strategic. Play as any of 12 unique characters as you connive and scheme your way to victory!
There are four new books on the way, which will be published by Insight Editions here in the States and will share some of the storyboards, art, photography, and the costumes created for the series.
Here’s more info on them:

And finally, here’s more info on the clothing line:
Luxury menswear lifestyle brand, John Varvatos and the award-winning HBO® drama series, Game of Thrones, are thrilled to announce an exclusive menswear capsule collection launching on March 14, 2019. The collection debuts in anticipation of the groundbreaking final season of the hit series in an ode to the iconic styling of the show’s costumes infused with the John Varvatos rebel spirit.
John Varvatos x Game of Thrones capsule marks the first time John Varvatos has partnered with a television series for a clothing collection. The brand is the only luxury fashion collaboration in official partnership with HBO for the final season of Game of Thrones. The 11-piece collection delves deep into the world of Game of Thrones with artisanal hand-dyed leather outerwear, cross-over Henley, pants, a textured messenger bag and graphic prints depicted on spray dyed tees. Iconic details from the series are woven throughout the collection, included in outerwear pieces that boast the Iron Throne motif printed on the inside of the jacket. Prices range from $2,698 (hand dyed leather jacket) to $98 (graphic t-shirt).
Combining the core aesthetics of the two entities; the collection maintains the authentic attitude of the John Varvatos brand flourished with updated details inherent to moments seen throughout the series. Taking note from weathered leathers, rich textured materials and worn-in fabrics seen on the show, John Varvatos translated these elements into wearable staples that retain the signature quality details the brand is known for.
John Varvatos x Game of Thrones is available at select John Varvatos boutiques, online at johnvarvatos.com/got on March 14. The collection will also be exclusively at Bloomingdale’s in the USA, Harry Rosen in Canada, and El Palacio in Mexico available this spring for a limited time only.
The clothing line is by far the hardest to get excited about. While it looks fun, and would be great for a theme party or cosplaying and such, the prices will give most people insta-nausea. I mean, $98 for a t-shirt? I am no Lannister good sir.
You can head on over to the John Varvatos website if interested in seeing the various clothing items and their stroke-inducing price tags.
