‘The Room’s Tommy Wiseau Auditions To Play The Joker (Video)

It looks like Joaquin Phoenix will be playing Batman villain the Joker in the upcoming origins movie being directed by Todd Phillips. One person we know won’t be taking on the role, should a deal with Phoenix not be worked out, is The Room writer, director, producer, and star Tommy Wiseau.
But that doesn’t mean Wiseau doesn’t think he’s the man for the job. He’s tweeted about wanting to play Joker in the past, and now he’s made his very own audition tape to show how he’d do. He even got The Room co-star and The Disaster Artist author Greg Sestero to stand in as Batman for the video, which you can check out below.

Watch: Yule Log Video Transforms Into Horror Movie
|
 |

Many of us have thrown a yule log video up on the TV or computer during the holiday season—especially those who don’t have a fireplace at their disposal. Usually the video is just a few logs crackling away. Sometimes they may include music. And every once in a while, they come with a slight twist such as being set in various Marvel superheroes’ homes or including Parks and Recreation‘s Ron Swanson, Nick Offerman, quietly sipping whisky by the fire.
But this year, one yule log video takes things to very strange and unexpected places. The Hawkins Family Yule Log video begins simply, with a shot of the living room and Christmas tree and decorations before zooming in on the logs ablaze. The logs crackle and pop like any other yule log video for a good half hour or so. But eventually things begin happening around the fireplace that transform the basic holiday season video into a little horror movie of sorts.

‘The Disaster Artist’: Re-Create Your Favorite Scene From ‘The Room,’ Win The Tommy Award

There’s been whispers that The Disaster Artist, a movie about the making of Tommy Wiseau‘s infamous movie The Room starring James Franco as Wiseau, could be a contender for the upcoming Academy Awards. And as any fan of Wiseau’s movie will tell you, a movie about that movie winning a damn Oscar, well, that would just be magnificent.
But while we wait to see if the movie will score any nominations, A24 has gone ahead and created their own award. It’s called the Tommy Award, and you (yes, you!) can win it. All you have to do is re-create your favorite scene from The Room…in public…and share it online for the world to see. So I won’t be winning a Tommy Award, and that makes me sad. But you (yes, YOU!) still can. Continue below to find out how, and to check out the latest trailer for The Disaster Artist.

Videos: ‘Stranger Things’ Mash-Ups With ‘Perfect Strangers,’ ‘Toy Story’

A new season of Stranger Things arrived a couple of weeks back now, so it’s prime time for some new mash-ups. We’ve seen mash-ups with Charlie Brown and Childish Gambino, as well as fellow Netflix titles Trollhunters and Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the past. Today we have a pair of new mash-ups to share with you.
The first comes from Jimmy Kimmel Live, who brilliantly decided to mash-up Stranger Things with ’80s and ’90s TV sitcom Perfect Strangers—and even got stars Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker to reprise their roles—in “Perfect Stranger Things.” The second is a mash-up with the Toy Story franchise dubbed “Stranger Things Are Happening To Me,” a play on the Randy Newman song from the first movie.
