Kevin Smith Dogma Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

The big news after this month’s release of the first trailer for Kevin Smith‘s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot was that A-lister Ben Affleck would return to the writer/director’s View Askewniverse. Smith later posted to his social media accounts how he and Affleck, after years of estrangement, had finally reunited.

The first trailer contains plenty of celebrity cameos, including one from Affleck, but it also showed that fellow A-lister and Affleck’s original bestie and frequent co-star Matt Damon would also be back in the fold! Today, Smith posted to his social media accounts about Damon’s role in the new movie.

We learned earlier this month that “The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode will continue” with two sequels to David Gordon Green’s hugely successful 2018 Halloween. Halloween Kills is set to hit theaters in 2020 and be followed by 2021’s Halloween Ends. Jamie Lee Curtis is set to return as Laurie Strode in both films. Now rumors are circulating that another character from John Carpenter’s original 1978 classic could be returning to the series: Tommy Doyle.

Ben Affleck in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

There are a bunch of actors who have made multiple appearances in Kevin Smith‘s View Askewniverse over the past 25 years. Ben Affleck is one such actor, first appearing in Mallrats in 1995—one of his earlier film roles. He quickly re-teamed with Smith two years later for Chasing Amy, and has since appeared in four more Smith titles including Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

What fans might not know is that Smith and Affleck had a falling out a while ago, sometime after Affleck’s appearance in Clerks II back in 2006, and the two hadn’t spoken in years. But with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot now on the way, Smith was thankfully able to reunite with Affleck for the project. He shared the story of how this reunion came to be recently, and you can read it below.

Avengers: Endgame

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame surpassed James Cameron‘s Avatar to become the highest-grossing movie of all-time. It is a huge milestone for some, and for others, it is an arbitrary milestone that is practically meaningless, because we all know which is the better of the two films.

Despite that, Cameron took some time to congratulate Endgame directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who gave their thanks to him for inspiring them to become the filmmakers that they are now. Check out the exchanges, below.

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios doesn’t mess around when it comes to any announcements on a public stage like San Diego Comic-Con. After telling the world about a slew of upcoming titles including The Eternals, Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor: Love and Thunder, Blade, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took to the stage the say that there were other titles in the works as well, they just didn’t have enough time to get to them.

And just as a nice tease, Feige revealed that these titles include Fantastic Four, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and a film that could, possibly, feature some mutants. Check out more on all of these titles below.

Avengers: Endgame

There was a point in time when it looked like Avengers: Endgame wasn’t going to make it past James Cameron‘s Avatar as the highest-grossing movie of all-time. Though it was a pretty arbitrary milestone that is practically meaningless, because we all know which is the better of the two films.

Not that the title would have given Avengers: Endgame any more validation it needs, but it has happened, as confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who announced the news to a packed Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con. More on all of this below.

Thor: Love And Thunder

Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness won’t be the only film to see a hero from The Infinity Saga making a return. Taika Waititi, who was just confirmed to return to write and direct, will bring some major changes to the fourth Thor film.
