Aaron Sorkin‘s scripted Steve Jobs biopic was in flux at one point in time. The project was over at Sony, with expectations that David Fincher would be directing and Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio were attached to star. But when everything fell through, Universal quickly scooped it up and snagged Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) to direct the biopic about the Apple founder. It may have taken a while, with casting rumors and such, but now the studio has confirmed the cast, title, and logline, as well as announced the start of principal photography.
Simply titled Steve Jobs, the film will star Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs, Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Kate Winslet as former Macintosh marketing boss Joanna Hoffman, Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley, Katherine Waterston as Jobs’ ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan, and Michael Stuhlbarg as one of the Mac’s original developers Andy Hertzfeld. Perla Haney-Jardine, Ripley Sobo, Makenzie Moss, Sarah Snook, and Adam Shapiro are also part of the cast.
