I don’t watch sitcoms much these days. I have enough trouble keeping up with the things I do watch, and today’s sitcoms rarely look worth checking out. But there are a few which do pique my interest every now and then, and I make sure to keep an eye on them so that, if they don’t get canceled too soon, I can attempt a binge or two down the road. One such show is The Goldbergs, which is appealing simply for the ’80s nostalgia. I’ve yet to watch an episode yet but that changes soon, as tonight’s episode features a very special guest, the great Rick Moranis, in a very rare performance.

Moranis is set to reprise his role as Dark Helmet from the 1987 Mel Brooks Star Wars parody Spaceballs in the latest episode of The Goldbergs, fittingly titled “Spaceballs.”

Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Pops (George Segal) re-enacted Ghostbusters, and earlier this season he and big brother Barry (Troy Gentile) were a New Kids on the Block cover band. On the latest episode of the show, “As You Wish,” yet another ’80s classic gets The Goldbergs treatment: The Princess Bride.
