Simon Pegg in Kill Me Three Times

A red band trailer has been released for Kill Me Three Times, a dark new action comedy starring Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek).

In the movie Pegg plays an assassin who is hired to kill a man’s wife, but quickly discovers that he isn’t the only one trying to eliminate his target. It also stars Alice Braga (City of God, Elysium), Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise of an Empire, Strike Back), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Warm Bodies), Callan Mulvey (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, 300: Rise of an Empire), Luke Hemsworth (The Anomaly, The Reckoning), and Bryan Brown (The Thorn Birds, Gorillas in the Mist).

You can read a synopsis and check out the red band trailer for Kill Me Three Times below. The trailer is NSFW obviously, due to some naughty words and violence. The only specks of nudity—seen on postcards in the international trailer also included below—are blurred out in this, the red band trailer. Because our precious, fragile little eyes cannot handle such things here in the States.

‘Elysium’ Trailer: They Will Hunt You To The Edge Of The Earth

Elysium Header Image

The first trailer for Neil Blomkamp‘s Elysium has just hit the web, and it’s everything you imagined it would be. The film is a follow up to his last sci-fi indie hit District 9. Just like his last film, Elysium puts a sci-fi spin on the social issues that faces us today. Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, and more star in this gritty and fantastic looking sci-fi film.

The Geeks of Doom team saw a couple of selected scenes during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con and yesterday, Sony offered a couple of journalists a glimpse of a more polished product plus an advanced look at this trailer. Based on the looks of it, we can see there will be a clash between two very distant social classes: the rich who live in a luxurious lifestyle orbiting on the heavens, and the poor who live in the slums that cover the entire Earth.

Hit the jump to see the brand new trailer.

A new poster has been released for Elysium, the new movie from District 9 director Neill Blomkamp.

The movie is set in the year 2159 where the rich and healthy reside on a floating city space station called Elysium, while the poor and sick live in poverty on the overpopulated remnants of what was once planet Earth. It stars Matt Damon as a man fighting for his life who decides to do whatever it takes to reach Elysium and find a cure for not only himself, but for the millions of mistreated people like him who desperately need medicine.

On the Road Header

Although Walter SallesOn The Road has been making a few festival rounds, we’ve only seen a couple of trailers from the film. Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kristen Stewart are just some of the headline names that have lead roles in the film, and now we are getting to see them in the first domestic and very brief beatnik trailer for the film.

Check it out here below.

You may have noticed that the trailer does an excellent job of previewing Jack Kerouac’s travels during the Beat generation. The brief trailer can only be described as sexually raw, full of drug use, and is musically expressive.

The ability to actually frighten has been celebrated in very few films over the last decade. There has been a succession of horror films that induce nausea and sickness rather than soul-tormenting images that plague the brain long after the nightmarish vision has vanished from the screen. To come in contact with true horror one needs to dismiss all films in the Saw franchise, along with films such as Hostel and Turistas. These types of movies construct their entire existence around disgusting images of decapitations, the tearing of human limbs, and the devouring of human body parts. All of this is perverse, lacking any ingenuity that is necessary when trying to craft a potent and adequately effective horror film. Horror films with a singular reliance on gore wind up producing nothing of substance or distinction. They just exist — and maybe they are content with that existence — as being a film with a perverse fascination with violence.

Details For The ‘Predators’ DVD & Blu-ray Release Announced

The Movie God   |  @   |

The DVD and Blu-ray release of Robert Rodriguez‘s much-anticipated reboot, Predators (Read: Movie Review: Predators), doesn’t come until October 19, but details on the discs and what features they will offer have been released by 20th Century Fox to allow you some insight into which you’ll want to pick up when the time comes.

The movie takes place on a Predator inhabited planet, where a group of Earth’s most-deadly and dangerous killers — soldiers, murderers, crime lords, special forces — have all been brought there as worthy prey for the ultimate hunter species. It returns us to the fun we had watching in the 1987 original Arnold Schwarzenegger film, which had since been lost in Alien vs. Predators and AvP: Requiem.

The Nimród Antal directed movie stars Adrien Brody, Danny Trejo, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Oleg Taktarov, Walt Goggins, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Laurence Fishburn.

Click on over to the other side to check out all the dirty details of the Predators DVD and 2-disc Blu-ray releases on October 19, 2010.

Predators
Directed by Nimrod Antal
Starring Adrien Brody, Alice Braga, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins
Rated R
Release date: July 9, 2010

Predators, the long-awaited second sequel to the 1987 sci-fi/action classic Predator that continued to further Arnold Schwarzenegger’s reputation as the decade’s preeminent action hero and introduced a memorable movie monster in the form of an alien hunter with a grotesque face and a nasty attitude, has a lot to live up to and a whole lot to make up for. It’s the third film in a franchise that was pronounced dead more than a decade ago after the subpar box office of 1990’s Stephen Hopkins-directed, Danny Glover-starring Predator 2 (a movie I really enjoy even though it can’t hold a candle to the original) and was buried even deeper by 20th Century Fox’s lackluster (and that’s putting it kindly) attempt to merge it with its moribund Alien franchise, a concept that worked beautifully in the novels and Dark Horse comic series, but failed miserably on the big screen.

For a while it seemed like the series’ devoted fans would never get the chance to see what a true Predator sequel could be, and that’s where Robert Rodriguez comes in. Back in the mid-1990’s Rodriguez, along with pal and frequent collaborator Quentin Tarantino, was the toast of the independent movie scene after his low-budget directorial debut El Mariachi became a small sensation and showed what a gifted and dedicated filmmaker could do with only a $7,000 budget and an unlimited imagination to make the movie. Hot off the success of El Mariachi, Rodriguez was courted by Fox to help revive the Predator series and Rodriguez wrote a treatment that was ambitious in scope and long rumored to contain roles for both Schwarzenegger and Glover’s characters from the first two films. It was called Predators and the treatment was put back on the shelf as Rodriguez focused on building his filmmaking career.
